Utah has some really awesome corn mazes. Our favorite place to go is Cross E Ranch. In addition to the corn maze, there are lots of different activities for kids of all ages. What I like the best though is that it’s not ever super crowded, unlike other places we’ve been to.

Miller Bird Refuge and Nature Park is a beautiful spot in the middle of Salt Lake City. The trail loops around Red Butte Creek. It’s a relatively flat trail that anyone can do. Kid and dog friendly, but it’s not stroller friendly. It’s a great way to get out into nature without driving up the canyon.

Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge is a kid-friendly hike in Draper, about 25 mins from our rental. The hike is best done early morning or in the spring or fall when it’s not so hot. You can do a loop or make it be an out and back hike. The trail gets somewhat steep, but it’s not terrible. My 4 and 2 year old kids did it with me. I carried the 2 year old on my shoulders most of the time.

Heugh’s Canyon waterfall in Salt Lake City. It’s a moderate difficulty hike that older kids could easily do. There is at least one really steep part. The hike requires bouldering to reach the falls. I did it with a 6 year old and 9 year old and they did great. Bring lots of water and enjoy the mist of the falls.

Blacksmith Ice cream makes ice cream from very fresh ingredients that you can taste. Every flavor we’ve tried has been delicious. They have some flavors like S’more ice cream all the time, but every month they have new flavors to try. They also have dairy free ice cream that’s equally delicious. This time we tried Blueberry lemon and Royal Dutch. Every ice cream is made with real ingredients- s’more ice cream has real toasted marshmallows and grilled pineapple has, you guessed it, real grilled pineapples. Definitely go and give it a try for yourself. You won’t regret it!

It’s HOT outside! City Creek mall is a great place to go not only to shop, but to play! In the food court there’s a fun place for the kids to run around and climb. It’s a great place to go to beat the heat and let the kids get their energy out.
