This week the tour had its first pair of international visitors -Patrick and Aileen from Germany- who bought their tickets online before leaving home. I am so lucky that the best people continue to find the tour in spite of the fact I have never bought a single ad!! Word of mouth, sharing of photos, a handful of stellar reviews online, and I’m basically sold out most nights. If youve been on the tour, thank you, thank you!!

Meet Donna. She worked at Walker Bank from 1950 to 1956 and was very proud of her career in banking. Her daughter and granddaughter took the tour last weekend and shared this photo :)

Aside from history and architecture, I love to share all kinds of Salt Lake stories in the tour. A couple times I’ve mentioned The Beach Boys. With the passing of Brian Wilson, Fox 13 re-aired a story of mine from 2012, and I’m glad they did, as it was one of my favorites…

The music of the Beach Boys is timeless, but in their early years, the band that defined the California surf sound actually spent a lot of time in Utah.
