Mass shooting thwarted on the 4th of July at Yellowstone. Good job National Park Rangers! 👏
"Thanks to the heroic actions of our law enforcement rangers, many lives were saved here last Thursday," said Cam Sholly, superintendent of Yellowstone National Park. "These rangers immediately confronted this shooter and took decisive action to ensure he was no longer a threat to public safety."

Special Agents with the NPS Investigative Services Branch and Victim Specialists from the BIA Victim Assistance Program were among those who responded to Yellowstone National Park on July 4 for a law enforcement involved shooting incident, and are part of the ongoing investigation and community support efforts.
"We are working now to provide maximum support to those involved and their families," continued Sholly. "We appreciate the support of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Park Service, Department of the Interior, and many other partners as we continue to manage through the aftermath of this incident."
