“If I can’t see in the WATA, I can’t get in.” 😂🌊

And BABY… I mean that! 😂

I don’t swim in lakes. Never have. Never will. 😩 My water requirements are simple: bathtub, swimming pool, or BEACH—and that beach wata better be CLEAR! 😂

Because I need to SEE what’s in there. 👀 I need to know what’s touching me. I need to know what’s swimming past my feet. I need to know if that little something brushing against my leg is seaweed… or if I’m about to meet somebody I absolutely did NOT come on vacation with! 😂😂😂

When we were staying at Margaritaville Resort on St. Thomas, the beach was experiencing what the locals call “Seagasm”—an overwhelming amount of seaweed washing up on the shore. 🌿🌊

And when I tell you that smell?! 🤢 BABY… I thought it smelled WORSE than rotten eggs! 😩😂 The beach really wasn’t accessible, so we headed over to Coki Beach, which was absolutely beautiful and had that clear Caribbean wata I love. 💙🏝️

But then we took the ferry over to St. John and visited Trunk Bay Beach…

OH. MY. GOODNESS. 😍😍😍

THIS?! THIS is the kind of wata I’m talking about!

The white sand. 🤍
The crystal-clear blue wata. 💙
The mountains in the distance. ⛰️
The whole view?! 😍

Absolutely BREATHTAKING.

And honestly, the pictures and videos do NOT do this place justice. You really have to see it for yourself.

Because this is exactly why I need clear wata! 😂 If something swims across my foot, I need to SEE IT COMING! 👀

I need to know what’s touching me.
I need to know what just brushed my leg.
I need to know whether it’s seaweed… or something that has fins and an attitude! 😂😂😂

Because if I feel something swimming across my leg and I CAN’T SEE IT…

Baby, I’m going to find a way to get out of that wata SO FAST, you’d think I had suddenly developed the ability to walk on it! 😂😂😂

Because absolutely NOT. I rebuke whatever just touched my foot! 🙅🏽‍♀️😂

Trunk Bay understood the assignment. 🏝️✨

And now I completely understand why it has been recognized as one of the most beautiful beaches to visit. It is STUNNING.

The water was CLEAR. The weather was BEAUTIFUL. The sun was doing exactly what she needed to do on my skin and my face. ☀️😌

And the best part? This was an IMPROMPTU retirement trip — flight covered with my miles ✈️ and my timeshare taking care of the stay.

Some songs just hit differently when you’ve got a beautiful view in front of you. 🌴☀️

This song has always done something to me. The melody alone feels like freedom. Like exhaling after holding your breath for too long.

And then you add those lyrics? Whew. 🥹

I chose this view from my balcony in Punta Cana because it perfectly captures the feeling this song gives me—peace, freedom, no pressure, no rushing… just being present in the moment.

Life may be doing what life does, but moments like this remind me that I don’t have to carry everything everywhere I go.

Sometimes I can just pack my bags, change my scenery, and breathe. ✈️🌊💙
