It’s going to be a rough couple of weeks over here while we wait for results from a biopsy. In the last 2-3 weeks, our Xena has had over 20 cysts pop up all over her body. At first, I thought they were bites of some kind. After having one aspirated at the vet yesterday though, she recommended we biopsy. Wish us luck.

(Repost because I forgot to put her name on her pic) This is Xena! She is a tripawd, and a master at emotional manipulation! Just look at that face. She is chaos incarnate. If she had that fourth leg, we’d never be able to keep up with her. She’s got ALL the opinions and wants to be involved in every conversation. She was rescued by and they took such amazing care of her after her amputation. She’s in great shape, and keeps Archie on his toes, whether he likes it or not! She is the sweetest goblin you’ve ever met and we absolutely adore her. Her favorite thing is bedtime cookies! It doesn’t matter what kind we have (currently we have blueberry and peanut butter), but as soon as you say bedtime, her ears pop up and she is READY. She sleeps in her boy’s room and is a master at manipulating him into an extra cookie or two.

Ope, the humans got a little distracted by life but we’re back now. Sorry about that. Anyway, here’s Zuko. His one goal in life is to judge you. And also swimming. He likes to swim. But if you ever need a self esteem boost - Zuko is not your guy. Because he thinks you should do better. Try to give him his veggies? Get out of here. He is not interested in your weeds. Bugs or nothin’. Unless it’s a dandelion bloom, which he will take, but he’s going to glare about it the whole time.

Shall we head over to the reptilian side of the family? This is Sophie! She was found in the middle of a neighborhood street in San Antonio and the family that found her knew we already had some reptiles, so here we are! We did try to find her family, with no luck. She either escaped (bearded dragons are FAST) or someone just turned her out. I probably don’t need to say this, but I will anyway - DON’T DUMP YOUR ANIMALS!! Sophie was not in a good way when we found her. Yes, beardies like the heat, but they come from Australia - they cannot survive even out in San Antonio. Anyway, Sophie is just a big sweet heart. She’s super chill, up for anything, and LOVES a dandelion snack. I take her out with me every Halloween to hand out candy and the neighborhood kids love her. The only time she’s ever bitten me was when I was giving her some banana - her second favorite snack. I learned pretty quickly that my thumb is the same shade as a banana to beardie eyes. 😂 I’m much more careful now!

I thought we’d do an introduction series, since I haven’t posted much lately. I’m thinking about introducing the whole household - Archie and Xena have 4 feline siblings and 5 reptilian siblings! This is Archie. He came to us in mid 2020, a pandemic puppy. He was dumped out in the country in south Texas. It took us a couple of weeks to get him, he was very skittish - but also very hungry. This dude is my soul dog. We’re clinically anxious, socially awkward, easily swayed by snacks, and prefer naps over…well anything. He’s a reactive mess, and a constant work in progress (another thing he and I have in common). His favorite thing is life is peanut butter.

These conditions make it impossible for me to get any work done. What, am I just supposed to ignore this face?? Preposte...

Hi!! My name is Xena! I am a chaos goblin. I really want to be friends with (or maybe eat, mom isn’t sure and I’m not telling) all the neighborhood skunks! Last night, one came into our yard! I was so excited that I ran right over to it! Then I remembered that skunks are really rude. It sprayed me with its butt! Right in my eyes!! Point blank! Mom had to rush me to the tub, but luckily, thanks to me, this isn’t her first rodeo and she got me cleaned up pretty quickly and effectively. (And my eyes are okay) The house, however, is still stinky. She said it’s my fault but that’s silly. The skunk is the one that sprayed butt juice everywhere, not me. I was just trying to say hi. 🤷‍♀️
