Peru 2026! Here is the itinerary for 2026.
Hello everyone. We have the dates for our 2026 Peru trip. June 28 – July 7, 2026. This is the trip that includes the *Salkantay Trail hike.
Here is our schedule:
June 28 – Fly to Cusco, Peru. We will arrive in Cusco in the late morning/early afternoon*. Upon arrival in Cusco we will get settled in our hotel and spend the rest of the day getting to know the city and getting used to the altitude. Cusco is at nearly 11,000 ft. altitude.
June 29 – June 30, – Sacred Valley tour. We will depart Cusco in the morning and visit the Inca sights of Sacsayhuaman, Pisac and Ollantaytambo. We will overnight in Ollantaytambo and visit Moray and Chinchero. Return to Cusco in the evening.
July 1 – Cusco – We will visit landmarks in Cusco including Qorikancha and San Blas. We will also spend some time preparing for our hike.
July 2 – July 6 – Salkantay Hike and Machu Picchu. We begin our four day hike of the Salkantay Trail with a short hike then three days of amazing scenery and challenging climbs in the Andes Mountains. You will see 19,000 ft. peaks, waterfalls, forests, coffee farms and much more. We will be served three great meals a day by our cook and his staff who also have camp set up for us at the end of each day. We end the four day hike in the town of Aguas Calientes where we will enjoy a nice hot shower, a celebration meal, and a night in a nice hotel. On July 7th we will get up early for a guided tour of the historic sanctuary, Machu Picchu. We will spend the day exploring this incredible Inca city. In the late afternoon we will board the train back to Cusco.
July 7 – Spend the morning relaxing or get in your last bit of shopping in Cusco. In the afternoon we will fly back to Lima to head home after an incredible Peruvian journey.
Cost of this trip is $2600. This price includes accommodations, breakfast, some other meals, all meals on the hike, all ground transportation, tickets to all the sites we visit and Machu Picchu. This price does not include your round trip flight to Lima or your round trip flight to Cusco. We will assist you in purchasing your tickets to assure you book your flights for the correct dates.
* Most flights back to the U.S. depart Lima late at night or early in the morning (after midnight).
* Many flights to Lima from the U.S. arrive late at night (between 10:00 pm and midnight).
* If you want to see/tour Lima you are welcome to arrive a couple of days early to Lima. We will be with you and arrange tours and lodging. Cost for this addition will be $150 - $300, depending on how early you arrive. Since most flights arrive to Lima late at night, we recommend you arrive at least one day early. This would mean arriving Friday night, June 26th. This will give you one full day to see Lima (Saturday, June 27th).
* We can also add additional days after the 10 day trip. Rainbow Mountains are a must see. We can add this one day trip on July 7th.
*Please note! We can also accommodate those who do not want to do the hike. For the last several years we have had travelers who did not wish to hike. We have alternate activities/tours for those guests. Please let us know if this is your preference. We will take care of your wants and needs.

*IMPORTANT NOTICE – PLEASE READ*
Machu Picchu has become increasingly popular over the last several years. There is a limited number of people allowed in each day. Because of this we encourage you to register for our trip by early March. Each entrance ticket is attached to an individual. They are not transferable. Therefore, to ensure you get to see Machu Picchu we must purchase your ticket as soon as possible. If you are unable to decide about going on this trip by early March we can go ahead and purchase your ticket. The entrance ticket is $60.00. This would ensure you will get to see Machu Picchu. If you can’t make the trip you will only be out $60.00.
