The Duk-Duk secret society of the Tolai people of Rabaul, Papua New Guinea, carried out a ritual dance invoking the spirits of 'duk duk' and 'tubuan.'

Secret signs and rituals were known only to society members, who settled law and order in their tribes through the presiding spirits.

The dance is a long standing tradition simply breathtaking to behold!

The Baining people of East New Britain in Papua New Guinea have a sacred ceremony called the Baining Fire Dance. πŸ”₯

It's performed only on special occasions, such as the initiation of young boys into adulthood, weddings, and funerals. The skirts are made of pandanus leaves and bark cloth, and the huge Baining masks are made to embody the spirits of the forest.

The unfiltered energy of Papua New Guinea translates into a raw beauty bursting forth from its colorful cultures, people, and landscapes. If you're looking for a destination unlike anywhere else on Earth, look no further. Papua New Guinea is just the place!

Why is Papua New Guinea such a special place on Earth? If you’re a passionate globetrotter who loves exploring new exotic destinations, you’ll definitely want to learn more about PNG – which is for me the most beautiful archipelago in the Pacific Region. The country is a raw, remarkably untamed realm, filled with great mountain ranges, mighty crocodile-rivers and magnificent beaches. And five million people living much the way they have for thousands of years!
