Family fun in the sun. Local calico bass fishing continues to be good close to home, these Anglers had easy limits of better quality bass on the anchor. Our six hour trips are a great option for people just wanting to come out, get some lines in the water, be fed one delicious meal, and back at the dock to enjoy the rest of the day! Back to back days at the Islands with the same great charter group. Day 2 we spent the first half of our day scouring the local offshore banks, for nada. In the afternoon we slid into the islands, and anchored up for a quick shot at these beautiful yellowtail. We are head offshore for the next 6 days straight. On-the-water Report to come. Cheers

Healthy specimen from the islands on our full day yesterday. The guys ended up with two yellows 22-25lbs , with many more seen. We’re very hopeful that south of the border is gonna start producing some very good fishing here soon. Don’t be a day late and a dollar short. June is shaping up to be an epic month with big bluefin out west and yellowtail down south. We still have space on the calendar, give us a call. 805 441 9305

Sharing this one because it was too damn good not to.

Bluefin tuna burgers :

Ingredients per 1 LB of tuna ( adjust to preferred taste)

- [ ] 2 grated garlic cloves
- [ ] 1/2 inch piece grated ginger
- [ ] 1 /2 Tbl spoon soy sauce
- [ ] 1/2 tbl spoon toasted sesame oil
- [ ] 1/2 jalapeño
- [ ] 1 teaspoon onion powder
- [ ] 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
- [ ] 4 sprigs green onion
- [ ] Squeeze of mayo
- [ ] 1 egg
- [ ] 1/4 cup Japanese panko
- [ ] small Squeeze of agave nectar

Food process or hand chop all ingredients (besides egg + panko ) and put into a bowl.

Food process or hand mince tuna

Mix ingredients in the bowl with the tuna

Crack egg into the bowl mix well and then add Panko until the mixture does not stick to the sides of bowl

Put back in the fridge for 30 minutes

Pull out and shape into patties with oiled hands

Put the shaped patties onto parchment paper and back in the fridge , uncovered, for at least one hour and then pan fry 2 to 3 minutes each side , or freeze

Enjoy On a brioche bun , pan toasted with lemon dill aioli w/ butter lettuce , tomato, red onion, avo, capers and wasabi sauce.
