UNITED SAYS IT WILL HAVE ENOUGH A321XLRS FOR ITS BIGGEST EUROPE EXPANSION YET

United Airlines expects to receive enough Airbus A321XLR aircraft to support its European expansion in summer 2027 despite delays affecting the program. The airline plans to use the long-range narrowbody on five new European routes next year.

The new A321XLR routes will include Luxembourg, Ibiza, and Toulouse as part of United’s largest international expansion so far. The airline plans to add service to 10 new cities across Europe and Asia during the wider expansion.

United acknowledged that the A321XLR program has faced delivery and production problems. Senior vice president Patrick Quayle said the airline still expects Airbus to deliver enough aircraft for United to operate the planned schedule.

The airline plans to start international A321XLR service on December 1, 2026, from Washington Dulles to Amsterdam and Dublin. United also plans to use the aircraft to replace its older Boeing 757s as more A321XLRs arrive.

Airbus production delays have also affected United’s A321neo Coastliner program for premium transcontinental flights. The airline continues to adjust its fleet plans around aircraft delivery schedules.

United also sees strong demand for Europe lasting later into the year than before. The airline says more routes now remain viable into October and November instead of seeing capacity drop quickly after the U.S. Labor Day holiday.

✈️ Delta Air Lines is set to significantly expand its Asia-Pacific network with a brand-new nonstop route between Los Angeles (LAX) and Manila (MNL), launching on March 28, 2027.

The new service will initially operate three times per week—every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday—before increasing to daily flights from June 7, 2027, reflecting strong confidence in demand between the United States and the Philippines.
