Some places feel like they exist between worlds.

At the Edge of the World, where the Pacific dances with ancient stone, the tides occasionally reveal a passage into Gaia , a hidden world of sea caves, intertidal life, and landscapes that most will never witness.

These upcoming Gaia’s Gate tours are among those rare opportunities:

October 10 · 2:30 PM
October 11 · 3:00 PM · Sunset
October 12 · 4:00 PM · Sunset

Gaia’s Gate is rarely accessible. The conditions required to safely enter these caves occur only during certain exceptionally low tides, making each opportunity fleeting.

And the tides are not something to take lightly.

Timing is critical for safety. These caves can become dangerous as the tide rises, and the window for exploration is carefully determined by the tide, swell, and conditions of the day. This is not a place to venture into on your own simply because the entrance is visible.

We move with the tide, not against it.

Come experience Gaia at the Edge of the World — with respect for the ocean, the stone, and the forces that shaped this extraordinary place.

Very limited availability. Approx 3 hours, navigating through ankle to knee deep water at minimum is required at times.

I hope you find some peace of mind in this lifetime.

A creative exploration of the Equinox, the Moon rising above the Great Lakes, and barefoot walks through the woods. A meditation on the eons that have passed to bring us to this moment, and the quiet wonder of simply being here.

There is such peace in these moments. Such a profound connection to the living world, to the Earth beneath our feet, and to the vastness of time that holds us all.

The Vision concludes with a recent sunset from within Gaia, along the Edge of the World, where earth, sea, and sky converge in a moment that feels almost eternal.

Sometimes, all we need is to slow down, return to Nature, and remember how extraordinary it is to be alive.

Sunset, seen from the Edge of the World.

Where vibrant green stone greets the turbulent sea,
the gentle breeze carries the breath of evening,
and the fire of the sun casts a golden hue across the horizon.

Earth, water, air, and fire
all converging in a single moment,
as though the universe has paused
to witness itself.

For a brief eternity,
time sits still.

And we are reminded
that we are not merely a witness of Nature’s abundance,
we are part of it.

I captured these images last Tuesday at 2pm, right at the peak of a shallow low tide. Just low enough for one final afternoon trek into Gaia for the season. With the sun perfectly aligning through the portal looking out across the sea, golden light spilled across the back walls of Gaia, like a glowing womb. A quiet moment, sacred and still.

Opportunities like this won’t return for about six months as the tides shift with the coming summer season. Next week marks the start of sunrise explorations, the first since last summer. Early risers, this is your moment!
These rare windows into Nature push us to rise, move, and experience the world like never before.

*Sea cave tours are tide specific, and are available during specific low tide windows. These are rare and unique opportunities to enjoy Nature. These adventures can test your fear of heights, balance, and agility. Expect ankle to knee high water at minimum.
