Had an amazing time with a lovely group during last weekend's Wildflower Photography Workshop! 🌸 📸

We learned about the technical side of photography, how to make the most of phone cameras, small fixes that yield big impacts... and we just enjoyed some good old-fashioned time in nature! 🦋

Just here to appreciate the unbelievable biodiversity of this here corner of the country.

The largest pinecone in the world... Blue-eyed beetles that squeak... Technicolor flowers of every hue... Giant, frilly, and intelligent molluscs... Tiny creatures containing impossible detail... All shaped by this landscape. All shaped by each other. Context is beauty! How can we possibly compare? Or make it up to them? Or let them go?

Nature is my favorite thing in this universe.

Join me Saturday, June 27, at 2PM for a hands-on wildflower and pollinator photography workshop! This 2-hour workshop combines nature interpretation, field photography, creative expression, and community into one memorable morning.

That's a wrap! ✨ What a weekend to finish off my mushroom tour season! Back-to-back sold out tours, plus a few smaller weekday sessions made for a lot of cool fungi sightings! I even saw a few species I had not yet seen in San Diego! 🤓🍄

Thanks to everyone who came out, especially those of you who brought your friends and family along!

Y'all KNOW I absolutely loooovvve my binoculars. 🤓 So of course I was thrilled when reached out about a little collab! Their newest model is just as great as the old one, but prettier in green and water resistant! 💦

It's been a fantastic year for spending time in San Diego's nature! And as far as I can tell, the world on our screens keeps on getting weirder, so I look forward to seeing y'all outside in the fresh air to touch grass again soon. 😉🌱
