Serious question for anyone who has done Oktoberfest on a budget: did you go the Theresienwiese tent route or did you end up at one of the city beer halls instead, and which one actually felt worth it?

Salento is not the Coffee Region. It's the front porch. The real Eje Cafetero is a dirt road, a gondola over a 2,000-meter valley, and coffee that tastes nothing like what you brewed at home. New itinerary, real 2026 prices, link below.

The Eje Cafetero itinerary no one's written yet: 8 days, 4 extraordinary hotels, a gondola into the clouds, and every price in COP and USD.

The massage room at KAWA is built like a bird's nest and it might be the coolest spa I've ever been to πŸͺΊ

Mountain Retreat in Salento is the kind of place where the architecture alone is worth the trip.

The whole hotel is built using tapia β€” an ancient Colombian construction method using only clay and earth, zero concrete β€” and somehow they made a spa out of it that looks like it grew here.

I would come here for a massage every single week they had direct flights, SFO-KAWA πŸ˜†βœˆοΈ

The Most Beautiful Way to Get a Workout in San Francisco Ends at Coit Tower.

Nearly 400 steps up the east face of Telegraph Hill, through secret gardens, past some of the oldest cottages in the city, with wild parrots flying overhead. It sounds made up. It's not.

The gardens along the way were started by a woman named Grace Marchant in 1949 β€” she single-handedly turned a literal dumping ground into one of the most beautiful spots in the city.

Take a detour down Napier Lane halfway up β€” it's the only street in SF made entirely of wood planks. Then keep climbing. Coit Tower is waiting at the top.

πŸ“ Start at Filbert St & Sansome St, San Francisco

πŸš‡ Nearest transit: Embarcadero BART, then walk north along the waterfront

πŸ’΅ Price: Free

⏰ Best time: Weekday mornings β€” it gets busy on weekends

πŸ’‘ Pro tip: Take the Filbert Steps up and the Greenwich Steps down β€” they run parallel and make a perfect loop

Woke up to this at Bio Habitat Hotel and genuinely did not move for twenty minutes ☁️

This is Andean cloud forest β€” not jungle, not plains, just this very specific green rolling misty situation that only exists in the Colombian coffee region. .Hotel is built from bamboo into the side of a mountain, and your room literally opens directly into it.

Outdoor movie nights in San Francisco hit different when the whole city decides to show up 🎬

Sundown Cinema is one of those things that makes you go "wait, we have this?" β€” a crowd of strangers on blankets, watching a movie outside, in the middle of the city. Bring layers. Bring snacks. Bring someone cute.

Wiesn tip nobody puts in the glossy guides: get to the tents when they open at 10am. Seats are findable, the atmosphere is warm rather than frantic, and the beer tastes exactly the same as it does at noon.
