Catedral de la Almudena, Madrid.

Sitting right across from the Royal Palace, the cathedral had been in Madrid’s building plans for more than 200 years, but it did not actually finish construction until the year 1993. Admission is free, so drop in any time you want and take a look at the neo-gothic interior.

El Parque Retiró is a large and popular 350-acre park in the city center of Madrid, a sort of “Central Park” for the city. I recommend getting lost on a walk, finding a quiet place to sit, and enjoying the peace and quiet.

The park has a couple of famous sites, one being the “Crystal Palace” pictured above.
If you want a bit more action, the life of the park centers around the lake where you can rent small canoes or paddle boats. You’ll also find a large monument to Alfonso XII (swipe right to the final photo).

So many people think of Maui as a beach vacation, but there’s a ton of adventures you’d miss out on if you spend your whole week in the sand.

A visit to Haleakalā - one of our nation’s national parks - presents a breathtaking opportunity to walk atop a dormant volcano and peer over the miles-long crater. Sitting 10,000-feet high, hiking atop Haleakalā crater means that you are usually above the clouds.

When I set out to create MinuteTravels.com, my friends asked me what my travel style is and who is my demographic audience.

I like all kinds of travel. I like staying in a luxury hotel just as much as I like staying in a hip hostel. I like going to a fancy four-course meal AND I like grabbing a schwarma-to-go from a walk-up shop. They can both be GREAT experiences if you know how to do them right!
