Catedral de la Almudena, Madrid.
Sitting right across from the Royal Palace, the cathedral had been in Madrid’s building plans for more than 200 years, but it did not actually finish construction until the year 1993. Admission is free, so drop in any time you want and take a look at the neo-gothic interior.
Afterwards, hang outside in Plaza Oriente and people watch, or take a walk 10 minutes north to Plaza España and to el Templo de Debod. Visit MinuteTravels.com (link in bio) to learn how!
