The Philippine Department of Tourism (PDOT) is the Philippine government agency established to undertake research and gather data on tourism market trends and other relevant tourism information; coordinate the implementation of its plans, policies and programs of the Department, including the multilateral and bilateral agreements, with the NTOs and other international associations; supervise the implementation of international tourism promotion programs in their respective areas of responsibility as well as provide information in the preparation of international promotions plan. There are 24 PDOT overseas offices around the globe tasked to develop and implement programs and activities designed to promote the Philippines as a tourism destination within its area of jurisdiction. The Philippines is among the world’s fastest-improving tourism economies 🇵🇭

Climbing eight places to 57th out of 110 economies, the country ranked as the seventh-fastest improving in the World Economic Forum’s 2026 Travel and Tourism Development Index. Sustainability saw the biggest leap, rising from 64th to 29th, alongside gains in transport connectivity and tourism policy.

These improvements support better connections between destinations and stronger protection for the reefs, forests, and heritage sites travelers come to experience. The goal: tourism that benefits the Filipino communities welcoming you along the way.

"This is proof that the work we have been putting into our tourism sector, from our airports and seaports to our local markets and cultural destinations, is being felt and recognized internationally. But we acknowledge we have a long way to go, and we are working hard to ensure that every Filipino community that welcomes tourists reaps the benefits through better jobs, better livelihoods, and a better quality of life,” said Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay.
