Fun fact: The fuel powering your Incredible Adventures tour may have started as cooking oil from a San Francisco restaurant. ♻️

We use renewable biodiesel made in part from locally recycled vegetable oil. It's a cleaner-burning alternative to traditional diesel that helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions while getting you to some of California's most incredible places.

How long should you plan to spend at Alcatraz?

Most visitors should plan around 2½ to 3 hours. That includes:
• About 15 minutes on the ferry each way
• Roughly 45–60 minutes for the Cellhouse audio tour
• Extra time to explore the exhibits, historic buildings, and views from the island

The ferry gets you there quickly. The history is worth slowing down for.
