Thanks to Kurt Thomas, a life-long farmer and rancher in the Klamath Basin and owner of KC Thomas Cattle Co., for submitting this letter to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in support of the transfer of the lower Klamath dams to KRRC. In his letter, Mr. Thomas highlights the facts that the dams “provide zero water for irrigation” and “provide zero water for flood control.” He concludes with, “my personal opinion is that dam removal will result in a terrific outcome where benefits to conservation and the local environment combine with positive economic growth in the local business and agricultural communities to form a win-win for the Upper Klamath Basin.” We couldn’t agree more!
