It's the last of spring quarter at the ! Meet Hailey!! Hailey is a first-year food science major from Marin, CA. She has done ceramics for around five years and has been coming to the Craft Center since fall quarter when she stumbled upon it one day. 🌞

Hailey loves to do everything in the Craft Center, throwing, glazing, and hand-building. She loves nature and how beautiful SLO is. Hailey's favorite thing to make is lidded jars, but her most favorite pieces are sea-themed ceramics. Hailey is looking forward to eating good food this summer and having a little time off from school! 🪸🐚

It's at the ! Meet Leigh Ann!! 🛝 Leigh Ann is a third-year psychology major from Mountain View, CA. She just started working at the Craft Center and is currently building up the jewelry program, then will teach it next school year!

Leigh Ann started coming to the Craft Center because her friends enjoy doing ceramics, so she got dragged along and introduced to all the CC offerings! She said she loves the community the Craft Center fosters. One of Leigh Ann's favorite activities is hiking and backpacking; her favorite spot to hike is Montana de Oro. Leigh Ann's favorite thing to make is stained glass earrings. Keep an eye out for jewelry-making classes with Leigh Ann in the future! 🦋🤎

Attention shapers! If you currently have an quarter pass or are enrolled in a class at the Craft Center, we have an opportunity for you to get your board glassed! ☀️ On Friday, June 9, a local glasser, Nautilus Surf, will be picking up surfboards to blank glass. Stop into the Craft Center before then to drop off your surfboard but make sure to attach a piece of paper to your board, including your name, phone number, and "Nautilus" in bold pen. Please note that this service is not free, and prices will vary depending on board size. 🏄

It's at the ! Meet Tristan! 🌷 Tristan is a fourth-year environmental management major from Santa Cruz, CA. She has been coming to the Craft Center since fall quarter of this year because a lot of her friends work here! Tristan also makes her own jewelry.

Tristan shared that she has Lyme disease which impacts her energy levels, but she spends a lot of time at the Craft Center where she can go at her own pace and have a creative outlet. Tristan stated, "This place is my sanctuary." Everyone at the Craft Center admires Tristan's perseverance and looks forward to seeing her joyful presence. ☺️💘

It's at the ! Meet Alex!! 🌊 Alex is a fourth-year environmental management and protection major from Saint Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Alex is a frequent ceramics studio goer at the Craft Center.

Alex has been visiting the Craft Center since her first year and initially learned about it through a friend, Camille, a Craft Center ceramics instructor. Alex loves to make mugs, and one of Alex's favorite creations is a bulbous vase. 🏺🍵 Alex's favorite about SLO is the easy access to the beach and the ability to surf often. If you keep an eye out, you'll likely catch Alex surfing or at the wheel! 👀
