Lyndon B. Johnson was born on this day 118 years ago! 🎂

The 36th President of the United States began his academic journey at Texas State University (back when it was Southwest Texas State Teachers College) before making his way to the White House. But San Marcos lore remembers another part of his story, too: a college election, a lifelong rival, and one renamed street that H.C. Kyle Jr. refused to call by its new name.

Your dog called. They want a San Marcos adventure.🐶

Start with a sniff-filled hike on San Marcos' beautiful trails. (Purgatory Creek and Spring Lake are local favorites.) After your hike, it's time to kick back and relax at Dog Beach or another slow, shallow, and more secluded section of the river.

When it's time for a snack, settle into a dog-friendly patio at Sean P’s, Industry, and more.
Bonus points for a Downtown mural photo op with your favorite trail buddy.
