Our Story:
In 2012, I was fortunate enough to be able to fulfill the dream of a lifetime: I traveled to the Himalayas. A small group of friends and I had flown to Nepal and, together, we hiked to Everest Base Camp. The trip, made with a small group of friends, was everything I had hoped for—and more. Upon my return—even though I had brought home some incredibly beautiful pictures—I could not conv

ey the wonder and excitement of what I had witnessed. I knew that, there was no way for anyone to feel what I had felt—standing atop Kala Patthar, overlooking the Everest Base Camp, viewing 360 degrees of Himalayan panorama—unless they made the trip for themselves. Unfortunately, when I was planning my own trip, doing the research, making the connections, and working out the arrangements, I had found the task almost overwhelming. Add to that most people’s usual trepidation about traveling to an “extreme” and unfamiliar destination, and it was easy to see that many people would turn back before they even left home. I knew that my stress could easily have been prevented, had I only been there before, or had some local connections. I thought that, for my friends, how much easier it could be if I could take care of all this for them, and allow them to focus only on the trip. I knew they would be able to share the sense of wonder I felt from my fantasy adventure vacation. This was how, with the support of my husband and the enthusiasm of my best friend, I came to create Extollo. The Extollo Difference:
