🇺🇲A BIG THANK YOU to Terry Wilbur🇺🇲
Terry Wilbur, the Oswego County clerk and leader of the local Republican Party, spoke Wednesday in Congress in support of a bill that would make part of Fort Ontario a national park site.
Rep. Claudia Tenney, R-Cleveland, who introduced the bill, said in a news release that Wilbur testified at a House Natural Resources Subcommittee on Federal Lands legislative hearing.
Wilbur, of Hannibal, said he was honored to represent the community and testify before the subcommittee in support of the legislation. He thanked Tenney for her leadership in moving the bill forward in the House.
“Fort Ontario is an important part of Oswego County’s history and the story of Jewish refugees who escaped N**i persecution and found safety here,” Wilbur said. “Federal recognition would help preserve their stories, teach future generations about the dangers of antisemitism, and bring national attention to this part of our county’s history.”
