Next time you're strolling through downtown Sanford, take a closer look at the bricks in some of our pedestrian areas. See "Augusta Block" on some? These aren't just pavement – they're historic vitrified bricks from the late 19th/early 20th century! 🧱
The vitrification process used high heat to create a more durable, longer-lasting brick.
Fun fact #1: Sanford is one of only 25 cities in the entire United States that has Augusta Block in use.

We set a record today! Largest age disparity on one team. We had a 3-year-old adventuring with a 78-year-old, for a whopping 75 year difference! To be fair, the little one spent half the time sleeping in a wagon 🤣🤣🤣

This Saturday, in downtown Sanford, you'll be able to help families go to Guatemala, to work with an orphanage organization by building houses and cookstoves for those in need.
At the same time...
You'll turn the streets of downtown Sanford into a real-world Clue boardgame, where you'll follow directions and solve puzzles a murder mystery like no other.

Amazing Adventure Hunts is part extreme scavenger hunt, part outdoor escape room, and part walking trivia tour. All of which you be experiencing as you explore downtown Sanford. This Saturday only, book your experience for only $20 per person. Proceeds will go towards helping teams travel to Guatemala.

Amazing Adventure Hunts is seeking out five to seven downtown Sanford businesses that would be interested in being stops for a new scavenger hunt experience I am creating. I don't want to give out any secrets, but you would be a stop where people have to come into your store, find something specific, tell you the answer, and you would give them an object they would need to complete the hunt.
Stores ideally would be open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays until 7:30 or 8:00 p.m. . The areas I'm looking for would be between Myrtle and Sanford avenues, and between 3rd Street and the lakefront.

In March, two very special families will be travelling to Guatemala in mission to help build homes and stoves for families in need. They will also be working with an orphanage organization amongst other tasks.
To help facilitate their travels, Amazing Adventure Hunts is holding a special fundraising adventure on Saturday, 1/25, at 4 pm. Meet us at Magnolia Square in downtown Sanford to take part in the Clue: A Murder Mystery experience. You will turn the streets of downtown Sanford into a real-life game of Clue, exploring hidden nooks and crannies, searching for clues and answers, and ultimately discovering the Suspect, Weapon, and Location of the crime.

Look at this fun group! They came out to join the Clue: A Murder Mystery hunt, and they really dressed the part! It was so fun watching Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum, Miss Scarlet, and others race around downtown, solving the mystery, and make it to the finish line. We love their spirit!
