☀️ Saturday Places: Beat the Summer Heat at the Kiwanis Family Park Splash Pad! 💦

Looking for the ultimate spot to cool down with the family this Saturday? Grab your towels and head over to the City of Sanford’s only splash pad! It’s the perfect, free weekend destination for kid-friendly fun, complete with an inclusive playground and plenty of grassy shade for your picnic blankets. 🍉🧺Here is everything you need to know before you head out:

⏰ Saturday Hours Splash Pad Hours: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
🕒(Note: Park bathrooms are open from 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM during the summer season!)
💡 Quick Tips for Your Visit: Admission: 100% FREE! 🆓
Footwear: Water shoes or sandals are strongly encouraged to keep tiny feet safe on the pad.🩴
Little Swimmers: Children who aren't toilet trained must wear a swim diaper. 👶
Furry Friends: While we love pets, they aren't allowed in the splash pad area, so please leave them cozy at home. 🐾

Wednesday markets will be held weekly from 4-7pm at our same location as Saturdays, the Pilgrim's Sanford Ag Marketplace at 157 Charlotte Ave in downtown Sanford. Come refresh your fridge and grab market goodies and dinner to enjoy after work!

The Sanford Depot is stepping back into the spotlight! As the City of Sanford kicks off its highly anticipated Summer Concert Series, live music returns to one of the community’s most cherished historic anchors.

Here is a look at the journey of this iconic downtown landmark:

🚂 THEN: The Pulse of Lee County Commerce
Built in the early 20th century, the Sanford Depot was the literal heart of the town’s growth. As a bustling railroad hub, it connected local industries—like to***co, textiles, and brick manufacturing—to the rest of the country. For decades, the sounds filling this space were the chugging of steam engines, the clanging of iron tracks, and the chatter of travelers arriving in Lee County. It stood as a symbol of progress and community connection, framed by historic downtown architecture and local landmarks.

🎸 NOW: The New Era of Downtown Entertainment
Instead of train whistles, the air will now be filled with acoustic strums, local food vendor aromas, and community laughter. The Depot Park Stage transforms this historic transit site into downtown’s premier outdoor pavilion, perfectly blending Sanford's rich heritage with a vibrant, modern social scene.

Good morning, Sanford! We are coming to you from the stage at Depot Park because summer event season is officially here! Grab your favorite brew and check out what’s on the calendar over the next few weeks:

🎵 June 4th @ 6:30 PM – The City of Sanford Summer Concert Series kicks off right here at Depot Park with our old-school favorite, the Tuesday Night Music Club! Bring your chairs, your friends, and get ready for a great time.

🕷️ June 5th – It’s the Home Opener for the Sanford Spinners! Head out to the baseball field at Lee County High School to cheer them on. They have tons of awesome theme nights planned for this season, so check out our website calendar for the full lineup!

🚴‍♂️ June 6th – Pedal off for a great cause at the MS Spring Fling Ride! The ride kicks off at Hugger Mugger Brewing and makes its way right back downtown.
