Meet more of our amazing Honors Alumni!🌟

1. Chelsea Chiriboga (our social media manager) is earning her Bachelor’s in Business (BIM) with a Social Media & E-Marketing specialization at Seminole State. Her favorite class? Latin American Humanities with Dr. Reigelsperger! She loves running our socials and making new friends at the Honors Center. Her advice: Take every opportunity you can!

2. Jeremy Rodrigues is studying IT at UCF. He loved the honors Theme Parks class for the exclusive Universal tour, and his favorite memory is helping rebuild the Oviedo Honors Center. His advice: Keep showing up—you’ll build a community for life. 💛

3. Brooke Karten is pursuing an AS in Nursing at Seminole State. She loved US History with Neil Vaz for the lively debates. Her favorite memory? Exploring Austria on our study abroad trip! Her advice: Get involved—Honors is full of amazing opportunities and fun.

Honors student Saysia Berding is getting an inside look at Florida's legislative process as an intern for Seminole State's VP of Public Policy and General Counsel, Paul Carland.
Alongside Honors Director Tracy Harbin, she traveled to Tallahassee to attend committee meetings and even got to meet with Representatives Bankson and Plakon.
"Seeing everything in person was like the final puzzle piece to the legislative process," Saysia shared. ⚖️

Our Peru crew is back in the US. This amazing group of ten students and two professors explored the Peruvian rainforest during spring break to learn about the biodiversity during the wet season.

When people ask Honors Director Tracy Harbin why class enrichments are so important, she remembers the power of seeing what she was learning about not just in books or lecture slides but in person with her own eyes. Harbin states, “The Chagall windows were something we studied in my Honors seminar. The trip to the art museum revealed the magnitude and marvelousness of the work. Today, even on my spring break, I’ll sneak off to the Art Institute to appreciate the way stories get told through color and other mediums…and this is coming from a business and political science major.”
