I am sad to share that Hurricane Ian wiped out our condo. No one was hurt, and we have 35+ years of good memories to take with us as we move forward. So we are blessed. Our insurance company has asked us to document our losses. If any of you have photos of the unit that you would be willing to share, please PM me. (Esp. if you took a pic of our orange metal Florida sign in the MBR. Loved that thing!)

So glad we got to share this lovely spot with all of you...

A number of you have reached out to ask how the condo fared. While we have obviously not been on island yet, satellite imagery shows that the building was destroyed. Certainly we are sad, as we had 30+ years there, but there are others on the island who are much, much worse off than we are. If you are in a position to donate, please make a gift to FISH of Sanibel-Captiva, Inc. They are the social services organization on island. This map shows why Sanibel is so special. Look at all the conservation land. That makes for spectacular wildlife - and nature!
