Executive Chef John Wolf and Sous Chef Jamie Crisp from The Thistle Lodge at the Casa Ybel Resort will be preparing a free lunch for all contractors, first responders and others who have been at the forefront of the Sanibel Recovery effort.

Beginning at noon, Thursday 9/14 at Bailey's General Store located at 2477 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel, FL 33957, the Bailey's, Thistle Lodge and Casa Ybel staff will join forces and serve first-rate fare as a thank you to those who have been working tirelessly to restore power and clearing debris.

"We just feel really fortunate to have been spared a direct hit from the hurricane and we really can't say thanks to these guys enough." said Casa Ybel GM, Froilan "JR" Ramirez.

Since the event started, almost every year "Amazin Walter" has been here....and he has the t-shirt(s) to prove it.

Through the years "Amazin" Walter McDonald has won more medals than any other sculptor. Very few years he did not take home a medal.

So, when you see him at the event this year, congratulate and thank him for the many years of making us all smile.
