It is with great sadness that we pause this morning to share our thoughts and prayers
A champion of free speech and liberty, a husband to a wife, a father of two small children… has been taken. Words seem wholly inadequate at times like this… but words were Charlie’s tools. He used them to challenge thought… to encourage others to reason… to sow truth. A teenager raised up by God, who in a lifetime of 31 years and following His direction… built an organization that empowered young people to share the Gospel of salvation and stand for liberty and righteousness.
We had the privilege of working with Turning Point USA and Turning Point Faith… sending college participants and pastors on pilgrimages to Israel. Charlie’s commitment to Israel was lived out in his desire to send his followers to experience Jesus in the Holy Land.
At times like this we all search for meaning… for a reason. Most answers seem woefully inadequate or trite. Perhaps meaning for us can be found in the words that President Lincoln shared.. scribbled on a piece of paper. Perhaps the shortest Presidential speech in history… but lauded as one of the most profound ever uttered…
It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who fought here, have, thus far, so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us — that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion — that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.
Rest in the presence of your savior Charlie Kirk… you ran the race and finished well.
