Red Monkey Walking Travel

Red Monkey Walking Travel We lead walking meditation pilgrimages across the Camino de Santiago in France and Spain. Boutique accommodations, exquisite cuisine, generous hosts.

Each trip is profound. Walk where pilgrims have walked for centuries and connect with your center. The Camino of Santiago has been a potent pilgrimage route from pre-Christian times. The Camino is a living, breathing pathway. It will speak to you through the landscape, your inner journey, your dreams, and your sacred encounters along the way. Walking with intention brings a state of deep balance t

hat attunes you with your body’s natural rhythms and innate wisdom. You will be enlivened by the magic and miracles of this holy route. We will start from a town hailed as one of the most beautiful villages in France, and walk for 9 days in the magical, seldom traveled Basque countryside of Southern France and Spain. What to expect in a typical walking day:

7:30 - 8:30am Breakfast is served at our lodging

8:30am A group huddle of prayer and intention setting as well as logistics and we begin walking
Mid-morning breaks happen as we find cafes, beautiful bridges or vistas

Mid-day picnic lunch is shared on the Camino from olive groves to rustic hermitages

Mid-afternoon breaks also happen spontaneously according to need and weather

4 - 5 pm we arrive in our lodgings at our own pace and get settled into rooms, shower and perhaps have a glass of wine or stroll around the new town

7 - 8pm Dinner is generally a gorgeous 3 course meal with ample wine where we’ll share our insights and observations from the day as well as meet other pilgrims and our hosts

After dinner is time for philosophy, singing, foot massages, reading, writing or just jumping into dreams! You'll walk between 18 and the longest day is 26km daily. A taxi is available for afternoon pick-ups if desired.

🌿 Pilgrim Reflections 🌿

“I chose to walk the Camino with Red Monkey because I was in a depressed time in my life and knew I needed help to wake up and reengage in my life.

Walking the Camino did just that.

After I returned home, I found myself not only feeling a whole lot better, but I also started walking everywhere! After living in my home for 8 years, I discovered the beauty in my own neighborhood.

The trip was life changing on many levels, and I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to have fun, get deep, and have a powerful adventure for your soul.”

Stone bridges. Flowing water. Quiet cottages tucked into the landscape.

On the Camino de Santiago, you cross more than rivers.

You cross from busy to present.
From overwhelmed to steady.
From over thinking to trusting.

If you’re ready to cross into a new season of your life, the Camino is waiting. 👣

The Scallop Shell: A Symbol of the Camino

If you’ve ever seen someone carrying a scallop shell on their backpack, you’ve spotted the timeless emblem of the Camino de Santiago.

But what does it mean?

Historically, pilgrims carried a real shell as proof they had reached the coast of Galicia. Today, it’s a reminder that every step, every story, and every pilgrim is important.

If you feel drawn to the shell, it might be calling you.

Pilgrim Reflections 🌿

“I loved the power of being outside and connected with nature every single day. The simplicity of walking was so powerful — it’s incredible what our bodies can handle.

I cherish the deep 1:1 conversations I had with people in our group each afternoon. It’s so rare to go that deep with others every day for two weeks. That’s pretty special.

I’m still reflecting and processing, and I imagine it will take some time. But I do know this — I can’t wait to get back out there. I really, really wish I was walking right now.”

🌟 Pilgrim Testimonial 🌟

“I learned that I’m stronger and tougher than I thought I was. I learned that I could keep going even when I was tired — and that there is always light at the end of the trail.

I learned that strangers become friends quickly on the Camino, and that everyone has something they are working through and working toward.

And I learned that Vaseline on your feet is a miracle for preventing blisters.”
