My routine for family and sibling photos depends on the age of the children- if they are under 3, usually it helps if they have time to play and settle in before we start. If they are older we can get started right away and they can play while we do the rest of the session. Whatever works for that child on that morning!

We absolutely loved working with Mary and the photos came out even more beautiful than we imagined! We went to her Santa Maria location for the natural newborn package. I was so impressed with the studio setup and how little was expected from us.

She was a baby whisperer and got our little guy to stop fussing when needed. She even changed his diaper for us!

I've gotten SO many compliments on the photos. We cannot wait to book our future family photos with her. 🥰 - Kaitlyn T.

That's why the majority of my newborn clients reserve their due dates with me 2+ months in advance. She still worked to calm him down and took great pictures even if it was not part of the original plan! The booking process was super easy and Mary was always quick to communicate or answer any questions. I sent her a bunch of ideas of what I wanted, and she made them all happen. My routine for family and sibling photos depends on the age of the children- if they are under 3, usually it helps if they have time to play and settle in before we start. If they are older we can get started right away and then usually another parent or caregiver will take them to school or to get some lunch. Totally depends on the child and how they are feeling.

What if my baby is born early? No problem! Babies come whenever they want, and they have different needs. I take a limited number of babies a month so that I can make sure I’m available for my awesome mamas any time they end up needing me. If baby is born more than 2 weeks early and needs in hospital care, we wait to shoot the session once baby has reached 7-8 pounds and has been home with family for around 2 weeks. When are my appointments? I work Monday through Friday during business hours, and I shoot most appointments weekday mornings with some shorter afternoon appointments occasionally. I only work weekends for summer family sessions or holiday minis. Some people imagine photography as solely a side hustle but this has been a full time job for me for the last decade and I work a regular full time business week.

Especially when I am asking you about what colors or preferences you have for your session in your questionnaire, feel free to provide screenshots of my work or send me a separate message on social media letting me know what you would like. I can't create any set up you see on the internet but I can easily recreate something that I have on hand in the studio.
