The adventures of a Florida Boy post-hurricane are more like chainsaws, hauling limbs and grunt work than casting and reeling, but once we’ve got things cleaned up around here, I promise we’ll be back to fishing in a few days.

In today’s society we have normalized paying athletes ridiculous amounts of money to play children’s games on tv. But then you have everyday true heroes that give up time away from there families and comfy beds to come sleep on the ground and work days on end to make sure people they have never met don’t go without power and water. Yes they are getting paid but not nearly enough. Let’s all say a prayer for all the first responders and lineman and everyone else who has answered the call to come help out complete strangers. God bless you all and be safe.

Sometimes my clients want to take a filet home for dinner.

Sometimes they’re thrilled to catch their first fish.

Sometimes they need to reel a big one to prove they've still got it.

Sometimes they want to switch it up, get off the beach and spend a few hours on the water.

Sometimes they’re looking for a little adventure with the kids.

Sometimes they need a morning where nobody needs anything from them.

Sometimes they’re down and need something light.

Sometimes they’re celebrating.

Sometimes they just want to see what’s around the next bend.

And sometimes, they find a little peace out there they didn’t know they were looking for.

That’s the thing about being on the water. You don’t always know what you’re going to catch and the fish aren’t always the best part.

Whatever brings you out there, I’m glad to be your guide.
