Every emotion was felt from when this fish was landed, held, and released. I was happy, I was sad, I was stressed and I was relieved. It meant more to me than anyone could have ever imagined. A dear friend of mine and others passed away unexpectedly four years ago. Joe was an avid angler for salmon and steelhead in NY. He tried to get me to go with him, but I had to refuse each time. I was either never around, busy, or was working. When I finally agreed to come up after speaking to him for the last time, I instead attended his funeral the following week. So, let alone was this my first steelhead ever, it also has a deep meaning behind it. Myself and a group of shared friends now honor him by having an annual fishing trip the first weekend of November around his birthday. This time was a successful trip to say the least. My few pictures don’t do it justice. I look forward to next year to keep slaying fish in his name. .arnold1992 .west.psc
