We would like to stop the confirmation of Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education. She is not qualified for the position. She has no education experience to direct the department she would head. She wants to undo federal regulations that protect children. Privatization is not the answer for educati...

Well, this is a hopeful sign. A Republican the state senate in Florida has proposed to change the charter law so that it focuses on the neediest children, the ones for whom charters were first crea...

Sarasota County School Board spends millions of dollars to make "data driven decisions", it would seem they would consider using the data to drive decisions, even when it forces them to change and be transparent.

Under the guise of school choice, the Florida House is pushing ahead with three bad bills that would benefit charter schools and yet again damage traditional public schools. The priorities are upside-down, and the Senate should stick up for local control and a fairer distribution of tax money to pub…

VOTE NO ON PARENT TRIGGER because:

1) It has proven to inflict divisiveness and conflict upon communities as evidenced in CA.

2) Over 1 Million FL Citizens oppose this - including, FL PTA, League of Latin American Citizens; NAACP; League of Women Voters, National Womens Political Caucus & many more.

3) It strips local control away from elected School Boards.

4) It's an unnecessary bill because FL has more choice than any other in the nation with McKay Scholarships, FL Virtual Schools, Homeschooling, Vouchers, over 600 existing charters, Cyber charters, etc.

Florida parents are united in opposition to a "parent trigger" bill that would advance the interests of charter corporations. Florida already has hundreds of charter schools, many of them run by fo...
