If you are interested in learning more about Deep Hole, a big sink hole located in Myakka River State Park, there is currently an expedition to map, dive, and document this amazing place that is only a few miles from Sarasota. On the expedition website you'll find some fun videos (with lots of alligators), great information, and a logbook so you can follow along with the expedition's progress. http://www.admfoundation.org/projects/deephole/deephole.html

Scientist from Sarasota County have teamed up with Mote Marine and the ADM Exploration Foundation for a joint effort to explore, document, and discover the mysteries that lay below the surface of Deep Hole, an ancient sink located deep in the Myakka River State Park wildlife preserve.
