This girl checks her suitcase!
I have read hundreds of smart packing articles and purchased all the must have travel accessories and still find myself disorganized and wasting time in the hotel room with "my stuff". Recently I read something from Rick Steves about mature travelers --- Recognize we are not 20 and take advantage of taxis, luggage services, etc. when needed.
In several weeks I am traveling to Egypt again, and Rick Steve's comment is resonating with me. This trip I am going to be honest with myself when I pack my things.
If I am honest with myself -
1. I am the tour es**rt so professional and efficiency is a priority.
2. I don't like being burdened with countless items when traveling through the airport to catch a connecting flight.
3. I am a 4'10", 63 year old woman so lifting a packed carry-on suitcase into the overhead plane bin is out of the question. (And no, I am not relying on a kind person in the plane to do it for me.)
4. I don't like carrying a backpack.
5. For years I have packed the "just in case" items and have yet to need them.
6. I own every size packing cube, silicon bottle and travel size do dad made and I am still always disorganized and rummaging through my things looking for something.
7. Packing 3 outfits for a month long trip is not a challenge I accept.
Follow me as I share my "honest" packing for this upcoming trip to Egypt.
