After being closed for a long period due to damage from Hurricanes Helene and Milton, several Sarasota County beaches are set to reopen on Saturday, Oct. 26. Siesta, Nokomis, North and South Brohard, and Maxine Barrit beaches will be accessible to the public again. Significant restoration work has been done, especially at Siesta Beach, where lifeguard stands have been rebuilt and sand cleared. Some boat ramps in the area will also reopen, and the water has been tested to ensure it is safe for swimming. However, beaches like South Lido, North Lido, and Longboat Key will remain closed for now due to ongoing safety concerns.
