We drove 73 miles south on I-75 to reach Quail Run RV Resort in Wesley Chapel, FL. Quail Run is a gated campground just off the interstate with restaurants nearby, so very convenient for us ($83). It also perfectly divides the drive from Ocala to Sarasota in half.

Friday October 3rd we drove another 85 miles south on I-75 to Ocala. We are staying at Champions Run Luxury Resort (3 nights @ $147 on a weekend is a good rate now for any full hook-up site). We're staying through the weekend to visit our granddaughter at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, attend church and unwind.

Day 13 we drove 106 miles southeast to Tallahassee RV Park ($73). I love the very tall and stately pines that line this well kept campground.
Day 14 Making a left turn exit from camp onto a busy 4 lane street was nearly my undoing when a car suddenly appeared from my blind spot. Fortunately the car was able to safely avoid me. Phew..too close! The rest of the drive was without incident. We drove east 99 miles on I-10 and I-75 to reach camp in Lake City. ($29 cash)

Monday September 29th
Our car engine was overheating so we flat towed it behind our motorhome 70 miles SE on hwy 231. We dropped off our car at the Dothan Alabama Jeep dealership for repair in late afternoon and then setup camp in the Dothan RV Park. The RV Park put us in their new section with concrete pads and new utility hook-ups. The dealership replaced the water pump and thermostat and had our car ready for pickup by 11am the next morning ($860 Jeep repairs are always expensive). I'm taking Cathy to Hunts Seafood Restaurant in Dothan this evening just because we like eating there!

Day 11 Saturday September 27 we drove about 65 miles from Prattville to Troy Alabama. Along the way we passed through the southern edge of Montgomery Alabama, but most of our drive was paved country roads. We will stay in Deer Run RV Park 2 nights to attend church on Sunday.

We drove 84 miles from Moundville to Kountry Air RV Park near Prattville Alabama. This is a lovely well-run campground. We added propane to our tank then we headed to Jim's BBQ for dinner.

& 10 Kountry Air RV
Day 9 we drove 128 miles to the archeological park. The immensity of dirt the natives had to move by hand to make these huge (29) flat top mounds is staggering. See mound photos.

2025 Fall Migration Day 7 was September 23rd. We drove 106 miles from Portageville, Missouri to Chickasaw State Park near Henderson, TN. The campsites in public parks are not as level but make up for any inconvenience with their beauty and economy.

2025 Fall Migration Day 8 is September 24th. We drove 104 miles southeast from Henderson, TN to Fulton, Mississippi and are at site 24 in Whitten Park campground. This is a Corp of Engineers campground. With our America the Beautiful senior pass our cost was brought down to $17 for 1 night with electric and water. That's a good deal and it's a beautiful park.
