Today, I had the joy of presenting 6 Saratoga Pride Scholarships to incredible seniors from 3 local high schools in Saratoga County 🙌
As a Gulf War refugee and new immigrant, access to education changed my life. It opened doors I never thought possible and shaped the values I hold today. 💫
I’m proud to serve as a Saratoga Pride Chair Committee Member, helping to create space, opportunity, and visibility for LGBTQ+ youth across our community. 🏳️‍🌈

Met a fellow , Shakeema Funchess, author of Adventures In Zen books at this year's Juneteenth events at the Saratoga YMCA while representing . Had to buy two of Shakeema's hand crafted stories, illustrations completed using generated images, and self published. Please support a small town author and her unique stories by buying one of her beautiful books. Link below.

Women need women. Especially ones that are strong, reliable, kind, and, supportive in their lives. Moms need them the most, because it can be lonely, stressful, anxiety riddled and overwhelming.

I never had a chance to get to know my little sister, however, I inherited these two lovely ladies, Darcie and Mashell. At our recent sister-in-law dinner, I learned about anti-monster spray and family pictures next to the bed to help my kids sleep through the night (I haven't slept through the night in almost 6 months.) Let me tell you what, best piece of advice ever!

I am grateful for my mother in law, Linda Atwood for all the last minute help with sick kids, and cooking chicken vegetable stew for my kids on a weekend Ethan had to work for camp weekend at the Double H Ranch.

My mom is my hero. She saved me from the Gulf War, brought my family to America 🇺🇸, expressed the importance of education that led me to many successful career opportunities, and is always there for my kids. She’s always supportive to help me squeeze in a date night or two with Ethan when she's visiting because she knows relationships take work and we need to invest in them. My mom is my kids deeda, has had a difficult life and pushed through many traumas to make sure I had a better life. I am ever grateful!

I wish all the ladies in my life a Happy Mother's Day. Tell a mom in your life you love them. Support a mom by being there for them, and give them time for a date.
