Start with Zone 0 — the first five feet around your home and attached structures.⁠
✅️ Clear leaves and debris⁠
✅️ Check roofs, gutters, decks and stairs⁠
✅️ Remove dead vegetation next to the structure⁠
✅️ Move combustible furniture and stored items away⁠
✅️ Move firewood farther from the home⁠

Then visit Fire Safe Marin to choose your next home-hardening or defensible-space project.⁠

Start at your home. Work outward. One hour is a great place to begin.⁠
