Dad level: Expert. 🏆 He covered this Megalodon tooth in a thick layer of slick clay so it blended perfectly into the riverbanks to fool the kids. Captain Matt’s jaw dropped before he put it in his hands and its weight gave the joke away. 🦈 Muddy feet, legendary prank.

The perfect start to forever. 🌅🤍

The night before saying “I do,” they traded wedding stress for a Savannah sunset with the people who matter most, their parents — soaking in the sunset, watching dolphins, and making memories before the big day. 🥂

History in the palm of our hand. ☠️ Our crew found this incredible 18th/19th-century bowl of an old clay smoking pipe on one of our latest Low Country Drifters excursions.

Look closely at the relief detail: a skull and crossbones enclosed in an upward triangle. It’s a classic Memento Mori (“remember you must die”) motif, balancing the physical limits of mortality against the upward pursuit of wisdom and the eternal soul. Not a reminder to dwell on morbidity, but an ancient call to burn brightly while alive. 🔥

A magnificent find! 👀 Holding a piece of someone’s daily life from centuries ago really puts the passing of time into perspective.

First , he gets to experience America’s Tallest Ship as the sun rose from behind the horizon and through the clouds…
And then? He found a megalodon tooth! We may be biased, but that sure does sound like the most perfect day. 🦈🇺🇸

‘America’s Tall Ship’ is now in until May 10, 2026. One of our morning boat tours was fortunate enough to watch it as it came up the Savannah River near Cockspur Island. The USCG will be offering free tours on River Street over the weekend. 🦅 We’ve provided times, dates, and an introduction to the impressive United States Coast Guard Barque Eagle on our site. Talk about an opening act… 🦅 We kicked off today’s shark tooth excursion by crossing paths with the largest tall ship flying the Stars and Stripes in U.S. government as it sailed the Savannah River. Not a bad way to start the day. 🇺🇸

Towering above the water with masts that seemed to scrape the clouds, the United States Coast Guard Barque EAGLE stopped everyone in their tracks before we even made it to the first beach.

Around here, you never quite know what the river has planned for you next. ⚓️ (more info comments)
