Robinson's Roost Fishing and Family Fun at Robinson's Roost, a vacation rental home located between Scottsboro and Guntersville, AL, on Guntersville Lake, near Goose Pond. Come!

Located on the main channel of the beautiful Tennessee River in northeast Alabama, Robinson's Roost offers approximately 3100/sf available for use, including five bedrooms, two baths and a large sun porch (a total of eight beds, no bunk beds). With bamboo flooring and Oriental carpets, the home was built in the mid-century modern style featuring an open floor plan. Meant to be shared with family a

nd friends, Robinson’s Roost offers comfort and relaxation to all who visit. Controlled by TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority), the water level at the end of the dock maintains a fairly constant depth of 6-7 feet. The boathouse includes a boat slip equipped with a Hewitt boat lift, and another slip with a custom Hewitt lift designed to hold two jet skis. A public boat launch is conveniently located nearby. Goose Pond Colony and Resort, the home of multiple fishing tournaments annually, is around the bend. Fishing is not the only activity available in our area. Whether you want to participate in water sports, spelunking or shopping, northeast Alabama offers something for everyone. Explore Alabama the Beautiful!

I just heard that my current guests have caught and released 35+ bass at my dock, some 5lb-ers! Two or three years ago the official annual seine catch caught about 3-4 times the “normal” number of fingerlings. They have grown quite quickly into good-size bass! Maybe it’s time for a visit to Robinson’s Roost!

It is officially Autumn and the temperature is cooling, with highs in the low to mid 80s and lows in the mid 60s. The fish are biting, the water is still warm enough to enjoy a dip, and the kayaks and canoe are calling out to the adventurous! The Traeger pellet grill is ready to grill your steaks, cook your burgers or smoke whatever appeals to you (don't forget the pellets, available at Home Depot and Costco). In the morning, choose how to brew your coffee in the new Hamilton Beach Flex-Brew, either the old fashioned way (Mr. Coffee-style) or by k-cups (bring your own). Fill your mug, head to the upper deck and enjoy your favorite cuppa joe as you look out over the water, serenely enjoying your surroundings, preparing for the day ahead...

Woohoo! Robinson’s Roost now has a Traeger pellet grill! Guests who have used it have thanked me enthusiastically for providing such a wonderful grill. The racks are porcelain and can be scraped with a wooden scraper, then popped into the dishwasher. Remember to stop at Home Depot for pellets before you arrive!
