The Saguaro, Sahuaro or Giant Cactus. The largest cactus in the US and the characteristic plant of The Sonoran Desert. Young Saguaros cannot survive the extreme sun, heat, cold or trampling and are often found with their nurse or host, such as a Palo Verde, Creosote Bush or Mesquite Tree. Here surrounded by a jojoba and under a Palo Verde Tree.
