Last night's goodbye to the The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park San Diego Symphony 2026 summer season was bittersweet. While a show stopping finale with the Tchaikovsky Spectacular conducted by Manuel Lopez-Gomez, I miss it already.

Top choices in its food scene begin with breakfast at The Café at Mission Pacific Beach Resort (grab a seat in the patio overlooking the sea), lunch Stratford At The Harbor (fish tacos a standout), cocktails and the trio of spreads app The Rooftop Bar Oceanside and dinner Allmine | Pizza and Natural Wine (order its show-stopping presented lasagna) with a tasting of ever-changing ice creams from Isa An’s Gelato. Let me introduce you to the newly discovered (by me) Southern California destination of . My stay was at its premier property, The Seabird Ocean Resort & Spa, with visits to its sister property Mission Pacific, specifically The Rooftop Bar, and An's Gelato at the Top Gun House (renowned as a noted setting in the Tom Cruise movie, "Top Gun." More of Mexico's Playas de Rosarito, Baja California covers the festive spectrum - horseback riding on the beach, shopping for fine handicrafts at Alex Curios, exploring the nooks and around-every-corner surprises of Encanto and just pop into interesting spots. You may find a delicious treasure like El Faro Novolo.

Here's only a sample of my three-day food fest Rosarito style. Eating just-picked corn with all the accompaniments (crumbled cotija, Mexican crema, freshly squeezed lime, and a sprinkling of Tajin) at a farm along the Canon Rosarito Ecotourism Route. Being serenaded while enjoying PUERTO•NUEVO and its famed specialty at legendary 70-year-old Lobster House. Then there's RutaElMedano and Gabi and Mario's El Arroyo Cocina Mexican Campestre and its ranch-style outdoor kitchen - well worth the ride along a bumpy dirt road for the company as much as the good food. Unexpected gourmet offerings were found at Occio, an eatery just off the Playas de Rosarito, Baja California main drag (definition of "gourmet": melted bone marrow drizzled over nigirisushi). And, of course, as an attendee of the Rosarito Beerfest, mandatory research necessitates assorted stops and tastings at local tap rooms like Delliott's and the guidance of Jorge Meraz.

It started with the Rosarito Beerfest (think 20+ craft breweries, local eats, live music - all adjacent to the Pacific) but today's Playas de Rosarito, Baja California is so much more. From an elevated food scene to the vibrant vibe that is made-in-Mexico. traveltips

Nashville highlights ranged from USA soccer watching to Nashville Tennessee H***y Tonks to the The Bluebird Cafe and the Jack Daniel's. Best part, however, was our family time (especially Quinn's multiple birthday celebrations).

Happy 250th Birthday Week America Tennessee-style. Beginning with miles of flags Leiper's Fork, TN and South Broadway's surround-sound tributes smack dab in the middle of Nashville Tennessee, attending the annual reading of the Declaration of Independence in historic Franklin, Tennessee was patriotic perfect.
