After 18 months and 40+ countries, all that separates us from home is a 2 hour flight from Seattle to SF (first class by the way)!

Our welcome back to the real world is rush hour traffic to Santa Cruz.

The last 8 days of our Greece trip were amazing. We really enjoyed relaxing by the beautiful beaches and taking in the amazing sunsets every night from our beach front house in Chalkidiki, Greece.

Now it’s time to begin the journey home.

Next up in Greece was the island of Mykonos for four days. We had a great time relaxing in the pool, swimming in the ocean, checking out 2000+ year old ruins on nearby Delos, drooling over $100M super yachts, watching amazing sunsets and getting lost in Mykonos Town (aka Little Venice).

Now it’s off to Chalkidiki, Greece to relax by the beach for the last 8 days of our 18 month around the world trip!

Our first stop in Greece was the island of Santorini. We spent two nights in the picturesque cliffside village of Oia before moving to the southern edge of the island to the sleepy area of Akrotiri. Although not as well known as Oia, Akrotiri had great views of the caldera that looked back at Oia and Fira in the distance.

Santorini is definitely a place we would recommend. Now it’s time for a ferry to the island of Mykonos!

Our recovery walk around Bordeaux was lovely. While walking along the river, we stumbled upon a Sunday farmers market which puts the US markets to shame.

Although our visit was short, we enjoyed our time in Bordeaux and hope to return for some more wine and food adventures.

Now it’s off to Greece for the last two weeks of our 18 month around the world adventure!

What to say about the Marathon du Medoc? We had a lot of fun drinking wine, but it was definitely a test as it was 85F (29C) and we are still battling the lingering effects of a cold.

Here are some of our favorite moments from packet pickup on Friday to the finish on Saturday!

And finished! The Marathon du Medoc was a lot of fun but it was brutally hot and sunny with no shade. Here is a sneak peak of the fun we had - champagne and oysters 2.5 miles from the end! More to come tomorrow...

Next up was three days in Stockholm to visit some friends from business school. Stockholm brought lots of walking around, islands, beers with a view, and of course Swedish meatballs!

Now it’s time to head to Bordeaux for the Marathon du Medoc on Saturday!

After our quick visit to Flam, we boarded a boat and headed to Bergen to visit some friends. In Bergen, we had lots of fun wandering around the city and enjoying the annual beer festival.

In Flam, we had a great time running and eating like a Viking all while taking in the beautiful scenery.

It has been a fun last two weeks! We started off by flying business class to Beijing, China on our way to Bali. With our late night layover in Beijing, we hired a driver to tour the sites for a few hours.

After our stop in China, we continued on to Bali! The eleven days we spent in Bali was filled with beaches, temples, rice fields, biking, relaxation, massages and of course Sam & Felicia’s wedding!

On our way back to the US, we stopped in Singapore for a night/morning by the 57th floor infinity pool!

The Bali leg of our year-plus journey ended the same way it began... in business class!

Now it’s time to visit family and friends in California and Illinois for most of August before ending our trip with September in Europe!
