One of my most enjoyable things as a travel agent is helping families...
I just "fixed" a reservation that a client reserved on his own, They are a blended family and reserved two rooms on a future cruise and were NOWHERE near each other... who would want to spend a family vacation not even in the same hallway???
With a little work, I got them an upgraded room and they can stay all together... That is a vacation!
