Yesterday was our last full day of our Hawai adventure. This trip was a bucket list for us! We booked it over 2 years ago and made payments. I know not everyone plans that far in advance, but planning, saving, and making payments is one of the reasons we are able to travel as much as we do. It’s the one thing we really spend on. For us, traveling and making memories is worth more to us than what we actually spend.

Last night we got to go to the Kalamaku Lu'au at the Kilohana Plantation in Kauai. It was a lot of fun! We were greeted with a Lei and enjoyed a traditional Hawaiian buffet with local favorites. The show was all about the ancient Polynesian voyagers told through dance, music, and fire knife dancing. It was done really well and the food was amazing!

Yesterday we were supposed to port in Kailua-Kona, but due to some huge swells the tender and dock were engulfed with water and it became unsafe to dock. While we’d been looking forward to this port (especially the coffee) we got to have a day at sea and take in some AMAZING coastal scenery! We passed by Lahaina Basin and Molokai’s breathtaking lush sea cliffs (which are some of tallest in the world).

Waterfalls, Volcanoes, and Candy 😂
Yesterday we ported at Hilo, Hawaiʻi. We went and saw the Rainbow Falls and the Volcano National Park…on our way back to port we stopped at Big Island Candies where we got to watch them make shortbread and chocolate. We ended the night at Karaoke 🎤😂

Today was all about chilling on the boat…honestly didn’t even take many pictures because we were just taking in the day! We celebrated our 25th anniversary by sleeping in and just being together. We got coffee at Starbucks and had a yummy breakfast at the Cadillac Diner, relaxed in the pool and hot tub during the afternoon, and thoroughly enjoyed our couples massage later that day. When we got back to the room we had an anniversary surprise waiting for us! That evening we got ready for the night and watched our new friends participate in the Not-so-Newlywed-Gameshow (which was hilarious), then went to Dinner at Cagney’s Steakhouse. We ended the night watching the waves from our balcony. Today was such a good relaxing day..until tomorrow…good night!

Yesterday was our first day in Maui! We got to port early and left for our excursion shortly after. It was such a long day, BUT SO worth it! We drove the road to Hana…and survived 😂…it was such a GORGEOUS scenic route, the pictures do NOT do it justice! We stopped at a few waterfall swimming holes; the Ke‘anae Peninsula where we saw lots of lava rock formations along the coast and a church that was built in 1860 called Lanakila Ihiihi O Iehova O Na Kaua, which means “Sacredness, Success of Jehova, the Son of God”; Waiʻānapanapa State Park where we walked on the Pa’iloa Beach with its black sands and volcanic cliffs; then had lunch at Hana Ranch which was across the Highway from Oprah Winfrey’s oceanfront property (by the way the Ranch is 3,547 acres and is on the market for only 75 million! Any takers?!😆); after lunch we stopped at Hoʻokipa Beach Park to see the sea turtles (honu) basking in the sun🐢🌞

What a fun day! Our tour guide took us ALL OVER the island of Oahu, Hawaii. We saw the Byodo-In Temple, which is known as the “Temple of Equality”; Went to the Tropical Farms of Hawaii, (aka the macadamia nut farm where you can sample 7 flavors of macadamia nuts…we took home the coffee and cinnamon); toured Kualoa Ranch, where they filmed several movies including Jurassic Park and 50 First Dates; Drove by the National memorial cemetery, also know as Punchbowl Cemetery; and finally made our way to port, where we could finally got on board the Pride of America!

Today we had the privilege of visiting the Pearl Harbor Memorial. Walking through such a historic place was a humbling reminder of the bravery, sacrifice, and resilience of those who served our country…a place that reminds us of how those events shaped history!

It was such a meaningful experience…it gave us a deeper appreciation for those who served and the importance of remembering the past.

We're grateful for opportunities like this that allow us to experience and share destinations with such powerful stories…they inspire us to help others discover places that are not only beautiful, but also rich in culture, history and meaning.

Mahalo to everyone who continues to preserve this important piece of history!

We're grateful to have shared this unforgettable day together! 🌺🇺🇸 Lest we forget.

Day 2 we spent the majority of the day at the Polynesian Cultural Center, which was really cool and full of interesting history. After we left, we basically circled the entire island of Oahu which was such a gorgeous drive along the coast. Then we returned to our hotel to shower and get ready for dinner. We ate at Liliha Bakery at the International Market Place. Tomorrow we head to Pearl Harbor.
