One of our favorite times of year in Seaside Heights is during "locals' summer" after Labor Day. The ocean is warm, the boardwalk is open, no crowds, and the heat isn't unbearable. And when October's evening chill rolls in, we love to cozy up to this electric fireplace with a movie and a glass of wine.

Our kids loved the surprise tide pool that materialized right next to the amusement pier at the Seaside Heights Beach & Boardwalk a few months ago. This beautiful beach is just a 4-minute walk from the Pelican's Perch!

Almost all of the windows at The Pelican's Perch face East toward the ocean and amusement pier. The photos really don't do justice to the view. Given the pace of development in Seaside Heights, we don't think we'll get to keep this full view forever, but we intend to enjoy it while it lasts.
