Savor the last bits of summer with these 5 activities in Seattle Southside:

1. Go to a splash pad and have a beach picnic, all in one place: Angle Lake Park in SeaTac. Pick up real fruit smoothies, Somali coffee and appetizers nearby from FiveStarEspresso 🇸🇴.

2. Go to an outdoor event or market (or both!) at the Highline Botanical Garden Concert Market, happening this Friday, August 14th from 4 to 8 pm. See Küf Knotz & Christine Elise blend hip-hop and harp at 6:30pm and browse their food, drink and goods vendors.

3. Grab a frozen treat: rolled ice cream from Dragon’s Breath Creamery, bingsu from Kakigori Dessert Cafe, gelato from Impresso Espresso | SeaTac & Seattle Coffee Shop, mangonadas from Latino Cafe or ice cream from AUNTIE IRENE’S.

4. Attend a summer concert at the Des Moines Beach Park. The next concert is this Wednesday, August 12th at 7 pm. Listen to harmonica blues with Stevie and the Blue Flames. Food trucks and beer garden available.

5. Enjoy patio dining. Some great options are Anthony's Restaurants at the Des Moines Marina, PASIFIKA NW in Tukwila and Vince Mottola in Des Moines.

Have fun making the most of the last bits of summer!

Save this for when you need some easy summer Sunday fun!

First, stop at the Tukwila Farmers Market for local produce, specialty vendors, and more.
📍Tukwila Community Center
📆 Sundays through the end of August, 10 am - 2 pm

Then head to any of the nearby parks. We like Tukwila Park for plenty of things to do, from playgrounds and pickleball courts to lush, woodsy paths to wander.

Finally, make your way to D**g Thap Noodles for Vietnamese comfort foods. Summer is the perfect time to try vermicelli bowls or fresh spring rolls instead of a steamy bowl of pho.
