Here I go again...the motto of my agency..." we know because we go"... this time I am off to Amsterdam for an intensive Travel Industry River Cruise Expo. This will be my 2nd time attending the ASTA (American Society of Travel Advisors) EXPO. We have the opportunity to stay on one of 12 different ships as “hotels”. I will be staying on the luxury Tauck River Cruise line.

In between catching up with many friends from over the years, I will also eat and tour and be entertained on the ships of Viking River Cruises, AMA Waterways, Riviera River Cruises, Riverside Luxury Cruises, and of course Uniworld Boutique River Cruises. I sample them all so I can really know the differences and distinctions. I will have an immersive educational 2 weeks, and I have lots of excursions and touring planned in the Netherlands, and on the Rhine, and in Belgium. I will at the end finally get to tour the Keukenhof Gardens at the very beginning of Tulip season and next year plan a proper tulip time cruise. The British Airways Concorde Supersonic Jet seen yesterday casually floating up the east river under the Brooklyn Bridge. It was being moved from the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum to the Brooklyn Navy Yard to undergo some restoration and will be back on display next year!

Yesterday I stated my journey. I am off to the ASTA River Cruise Expo for the next few weeks. All the best river cruise companies are bringing their newest ships to Budapest where a select group of agencies will use them as hotels and for seminars, we will “jump” ships for lunches, dinners, parties, experience the different levels of service and amenities then sail on a couple of them. This will really up my knowledge of ALL the river cruise companies and create relationships with the suppliers all to be better at servicing my agents and my clients when it comes to sailing the rivers of the world! Not only Europe but the Nile, the Amazon, the Mekong, the Chobe in Africa and the rivera of Columbia!
