Our tours:

Bill Speidel’s Underground Tour is a 75-minute guided walking tour beneath Seattle’s sidewalks and streets. As you roam the subterranean passages that once were the main roadways and first-floor storefronts of old downtown Seattle, our guides regale you with the stories our pioneers didn’t want you to hear. The Underworld Tour is our 21 and over walking tour, filled with tales of Seatt

le's early red-light district. At the end of the tour, each guest can enjoy a cocktail at the bar (included in admission price). This is an adult-oriented tour; 21 and over only, and IDs will be required at the door. The SubSeattle Bus Tour is a 90-minute jaunt through the city, learning about Seattle’s unique neighborhoods and subcultures. Guides explain the stories and countercultural movements that created present-day Seattle. The Underground Paranormal Experience is a 90-minute tour unlike any other paranormal tour in Seattle. Our knowledgeable guides supply you with sophisticated paranormal investigative expertise and gear, so you can experience what trained paranormal investigators experience. Cafe and bar:

The Underground Cafe features fresh, quick Northwest fare and a full bar before or after your tour. Ask our bartender to make you the best Bloody Mary in Pioneer Square! Gift shop:

On 1938, a plot to destroy "Miye Maru," a Japanese ship moored in Elliott Bay, was averted. A Canadian named Rolfe Forsyth plotted to sink the vessel in protest of Japanese aggression in China. His co-conspirator had a change of heart at the last minute and warned police of the plot. Upon searching the waters of Elliot Bay, police recovered Rolfe’s bomb—a suitcase containing 369 sticks of dynamite, blasting caps and a rudimentary timing device. Fortunately, the suitcase had leaked causing the timing device to jam and stopping the timer just two minutes before it was set to explode at 1:33 am. Police also discovered Rolfe’s body—he had drowned trying to plant the bomb.

On 1917, a fire destroyed the Grand Opera House in downtown Seattle. One firefighter perished in the blaze and nine others were injured when the roof collapsed, destroying much of the interior. Eventually the blaze was extinguished, although not before the building was entirely gutted. The building stood an empty skeleton for several years before being sold and remodeled into a parking garage. The Cherry Street Garage still stands today on Cherry Street, just off Third Avenue.
