Twin Peaks fans know it was never just about the locations.
It was the atmosphere.

Coffee late at night. Rain moving through the trees. Warm light inside the lodge while something strange waited outside in the dark.

That feeling still exists here.

The strange thing about Twin Peaks filming locations is how familiar they feel when you finally visit them.

Like you’ve somehow been there before.

The Great Northern. The Double R. Ronette’s Bridge. The roads winding through Snoqualmie Valley.

Some places from the series still feel frozen in time.

There’s a moment that happens to a lot of Twin Peaks fans.

You stand above Snoqualmie Falls. Cold air comes off the water. Fog moves through the trees behind the lodge.

And suddenly Twin Peaks stops feeling like a television show and starts feeling like a real place.

That moment is waiting here in the Pacific Northwest.

One thing many fans don’t realize:
The Great Northern was created using two different filming locations.

The exterior is Salish Lodge & Spa above Snoqualmie Falls. Many interior scenes were filmed at Kiana Lodge.

That dreamlike feeling the hotel has in the series may have come from blending both locations together.

See the Salish Lodge & Spa in person on a guided Twin Peaks filming locations tour: https://www.twinpeakstour.com/

The Pacific Northwest didn’t need Hollywood magic to feel like Twin Peaks.
The fog was already here. The forests were already here. The strange quiet was already here.
That’s part of what makes visiting these filming locations feel so different from other TV shows.

Some filming locations feel smaller in person.
The Great Northern doesn’t.

Standing above Snoqualmie Falls with fog moving through the trees feels like stepping directly into the world of Twin Peaks. The sound of the water. The cedar in the air. The quiet.

It still feels strangely intact all these years later.

Another huge thank you to everyone who’s taken the time to leave such positive reviews. For six years in a row, I’ve been honored with the Travelers’ Choice Award and it truly means a lot.
Sharing my passion for Twin Peaks and the world of David Lynch with all of you has been an incredible experience, and I’m grateful for every one of you who’s been part of it.
