The journey of transformation doesn't end when the trip or retreat does.

Every traveler moves through predictable phases after returning home.

Most of us have witnessed these phases but may not have had the language or framework to understand them.

When travelers return home, they often experience:

- Disorientation or identity wobble
- Grief or the feeling of "now what?"
- Confusion about how to bring insights into daily life
- Emotional turbulence that feels isolating

Without understanding these phases, we can't support people through them. With understanding, we can normalize these experiences, validate internal conflict, and create space for reflection that turns withdrawal into openness and isolation into belonging.

This is where The Figure-8 Model of Transformation™ becomes invaluable.

I co-created this program back in 2019 with some great humans with big hearts, bright minds, and it continues to evolve with the latest thinking and research.

I didn’t start teaching it until this last year, and I can’t believe how much I love collaborating with such purposeful folks in tourism from around the world.

I can’t promise you’ll be transformed, but I am confident it will be time well invested for you and your organization. You’ll make some great friends and partners, too!

I can’t believe it is our 10th Program, and it is shaping up to be a special one! We’re so proud to have over 400 TTC-Accredited Designers around the world improving lives and feeling really inspired and motivated in their work.

I know you’re busy, but this is a deeply rewarding opportunity to realign around your why, ignite your sense of purpose, and consider adopting a new experience strategy including innovative frameworks, principles and practices that are rooted in positive psychology, neuroscience, anthropology, biophilic design, wisdom, and guided by a 3 year seminal study into the emerging transformation economy with Stone Mantel, Aransas Savas and Joe Pine.

Did I mention that my co-facilitator, Jillian Dickens 🐢, was just named 2025 Influential Women in Travel by TravelPulse. We’re quite proud!

With so many tourism conferences and summits emerging, it’s hard to keep up!

Hands down, one of the best is the Educational Travel Consortium annual conference. The quality of people, the intellect, the spirit, the grounded yet insightful content and speakers are in a class of their own.

I’m proud to be contributing some thoughts and perspectives in a couple of different sessions.

One of them is, “Transformative Learning Through Travel: The Driving Force Behind ETC Learning Labs and Consumer Research.”

The other is “Navigating Courageous Conversations: Turning Discomfort into Connection.”

I will also be unveiling the “Transformational Travel State of the Industry Report, 2025,” along with insights, trends and some super compelling research from the first three years of the Transformation Economy Collbaorative led by Stone Mantel and Joe Pine.

Looking forward to hanging with some special humans too, including Heather Morse of Create Joy Travel , Béné B of Empathy Travels; Brian Anderson of Sierra Club, Shannon Stowell of Adventure Travel Trade Association, and Caliopy Glaros of Philanthropy without Borders.
